Dental Implants in Boston

Boston, Cambridge, Massachusetts

While there are a number of dental implant options that can address the functional and cosmetic issues associated with missing teeth, dental implants are the strongest and often most effective way to restore your smile's appearance and functionality.

What Is A Dental Implant?

Simply stated, an implant is a small titanium post that replaces the root of your tooth. The artificial tooth, or crown, is then permanently fixed to the post. This creates a permanent tooth that provides you with the function and comfort of a real tooth.

Charles River Dental offers convenient Implant Packages to help simplify this process. Packages include every thing from your first visit until you walk out with your new tooth. Call today to schedule a consultation!

What Can Dental Implants Fix?

Not only can an incomplete smile detract from your self-esteem, but missing teeth can also result in dental issues such as:

  • Adjacent tooth slippage
  • Changes in bite tension
  • Jaw shrinkage or collapse

While all forms of tooth replacement address bite tension and tooth slippage, only dental implants prevent changes to the structure of your jaw, enabling them to provide a lifetime of support for your smile.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants offer a secure, reliable, and functionally superior solution for restoring your smile, with particular advantages regarding:

  • Oral health
  • Comfort
  • Aesthetic
  • Reliability
  • Longevity of results

The best way to determine how you will benefit from dental implants is to have your dental implant candidacy assessed by one of our experienced cosmetic dentists.

Dental Implant Procedure

The placement of dental implants can take up to 8 months to complete and is generally performed in three office visits:

  1. During your first visit, your dental implant will be placed into your jawbone, where it will need 3 to 6 months to secure itself in place.
  2. Your second visit will be scheduled when your dental implant has been accepted into your jawbone. During this appointment we will take an impression of your teeth to create your custom replacement and you will leave the office with a temporary restoration.
  3. When your artificial teeth have been created, you will return to our dental office for the final, permanent placement of your new teeth.

If you have specific questions about implant dentistry, our experienced cosmetic dentist can address them during your initial consultation.
